Alan Wake Remastered Announced, Coming This Year
Alan Wake Remastered, a refreshed 4K version of the 2010 game and its two expansions, is on the way from Epic Games. The remaster will launch this fall on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
According to a press release, the remaster will include the core 2010 game, plus The Signal and The Writer DLC, along with a new commentary track from creative director Sam Lake. This also marks the first time the game will be available for PlayStation owners–it was previously exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC. Lake announced the remastered version of the game in an open letter to fans on Alan Wake and Remedy fan site The Sudden Stop.

Deadline is reporting that the sequel has overtaken Spider-Man: No Way Home to become the No. 6 biggest film ever made worldwide, and is expected to hit $2 billion by this coming weekend.

Battlefield 2042 Map Design Improvements Announced
Battlefield 2042 has quite a few map design changes in the works, according to a DICE blog post. DICE identified five map issues it wants to improve, including Traversal, Intensity, Line of Sight, Paths, and Cover. On all of these design elements, DICE wants player feedback to help guide the direction of changes.
- Traversal–Addressing players’ complaints that the game feels like a “walking simulator” because of the large distance between Flags, DICE aims to position Base Spawn and Flags to improve gameplay experience.
- Intensity–DICE identified Breakthrough 128 player modes as potentially being too chaotic, especially with the number of players and vehicles. The devs are “reviewing if it makes sense to keep Breakthrough as 128 players vs 64, or if we feel that a reduction of the total number of vehicles that can spawn ensures that their presence isn’t as overwhelming.”
