Bing’s cool new AI chat feature still doesn’t solve the biggest problem with AI-generated content-
Microsoft’s latest version of Bing features an AI-powered chatbot designed to answer all your burning questions. The world’s second most popular search engine clearly hopes this AI gamble will pay off, but I imagine the sites whose content is featured in these results won’t be too pleased.
Bing’s new chat feature responds to questions with long-form answers in an easy-to-read conversational format. If you’ve used OpenAI’s ChatGPT before, it’s essentially that. Microsoft says this feature is “more powerful than ChatGPT and customized specifically for search.”
Along with the usual search results, the Chat feature lets users refine the information they receive. In one of the demos embedded below, it breaks down the differences between cheap TVs after a couple of follow-up queries with the AI.
The AI-powered Bing gets its answers the same way AI art is generated: scraping information from the internet. And much like AI art, the creators of the content …
Best gaming motherboards in 2024-these are the mobos I’d build a system around today
Think of the best gaming motherboard as the foundation for your future PC. Your motherboard dictates what your gaming PC can and can not do. It also tells what components you should buy since not all PC parts fit into all motherboards. A good motherboard should ideally provide you with worry-free gaming lasting multiple CPU and GPU generations.
When it comes to AMD’s Zen 4 and Zen 5 processors, the best X670 gaming motherboard is the Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX, thanks to its excellent feature set for a very reasonable price. For those considering Intel’s CPUs, the best Z790 gaming motherboard is the MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi, which also has a huge number of ports and features for the cash.
Existing AM5 boards will work with both Zen 4 and Zen 5 AMD chips, providing you keep your BIOS updated, while Intel is going to be rolling out a brand new socket requiring entirely fresh boards once Arrow Lake chips eventually arrive. For now, though, this guide covers all your b…

Cities- Skylines 2’s editor tools look better than the original’s, but they still don’t have a release date-
I’ve taken a break from Cities: Skylines 2 to give Colossal Order time to address its many issues, from performance problems to bugs to critical systems not working as intended. There’s a lot of work still to do. I’ve also been waiting for editor tools, which is essential in a series that places such significance on mods. We’ve now been given a glimpse of the tools in action, which will be released “soon”, though no specific date has been given.
One of the big differences in the sequel’s tool set compared to the original is that they’re now in a unified editor, allowing you to create custom assets and new maps without jumping between different editors. It also just looks surprisingly accessible, so when you’re creating a new map you’ll be using a lot of the same tools as you’ll already be using in-game.
Maps are the focus of this first look video, which suits me fine, since Cities: Skylines 2’s launch maps really haven’t been doing it for me. There’s a lot le…
4X RTS Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is finally coming to Steam this summer with a new faction and modding tools-
Update: Publisher Stardock has clarified that Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is an “ongoing service” rather than an early access game now. This does feel a bit like a matter of semantics, though, given that the Advent faction is still to come and the game is yet to be put in the hands of reviewers. Stardock CEO Brad Wardell notes, however, that the goal was to leave early access when it had as much or more content than the original game at launch—a milestone he says was achieved last year.
“Our goal on Epic was to release Sins of a Solar Empire 2 1.0 with the same or more content as the original release of Sins of a Solar Empire 1.0,” says Wardell. “Once we hit that milestone in early 2023, we turned off the early access flag and began working on what amounts to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion feature/content parity which we will reach this summer and is the version being released onto Steam and as part of a massive free update for Epic users. We are a…
Get your setup sorted for games season- PC Gamers’ favorite gaming headset, mouse, keyboard, and controller are all on sale today
Good gaming peripherals are the unsung heroes of the PC gaming world. Though getting an RTX 40-series card and that beast of a CPU will let you show off your impressive frame rates and ray-traced puddles, it’s the headset around your ear or controller in your hands that keep you going through those long gaming sessions.
We at PC Gamer have spent long arduous hours playing with fun bits of tech and have a deep understanding of almost any peripheral you can find out there (and even put our favourite in handy lists for you to click through).
Luckily, with so many to purchase, competition is high and accessories tend to go on sale fairly frequently. Here are some of the best bits of tech we’ve tried, all on sale, to give your entire setup a nice refresh heading into the end of the year.

Japanese man gets jailed for repeated death and bomb threats that saw multiple Nintendo events cancelled, judge excoriates ‘selfish motive’ and ‘persistent and vicious’ behaviour
The Kyoto District court has found 27 year-old Takemi Kazama guilty of intimidation of business by repeatedly posting threats of harm, in relation to posts made using a Nintendo website’s online form in August and November 2023 (thanks, NHK).
Kazama’s actions resulted in the cancellation of the Nintendo Live 2024 event, which was to be held in January this year, as well as other events like the December 2023 Japanese Splatoon championship and this year’s Splatoon and Mario Kart championships (the latter pair were subsequently re-scheduled and went ahead in April without incident). At the time Nintendo refused to give details of the threats, other than saying the matter was with police, and that per a company statement “we decided we could not amply ensure the safety of our customers.”
Kazama, a public sector worker, posted threats of harm on 39 separate occasions aimed at Nintendo and its staff, including bomb threats. Kyoto Shimbun reports that the threa…
